BTS: Hunger Online: Cowboy Shoot.

Long time no see! I've been super busy and haven't been able to blog much. I know that's a rubbish excuse but i really have.  Earlier this month Chris and i did a shoot for Hunger TV which was cowboy themed. Initially when we went on appointments to pull items we thought to ourselves "where on earth are we going to find Chaps and Cowboys hats/ boots". Then Chris made the point that because it's cowboy themed doesn't mean we have to take it to literal. Best advice I've been given. Fashion tends to be Over the top and complicated when in fact sometimes the minimal and toned down elements can look much better and more believable. Chris used the southern cowboy as a reference. Their look is  toned down and they don't necessarily wear chaps and ponchos. Their looks is shirt off, jeans, boots and a cowboy hat.

The make-up artist:  Holly Silius. Managed to do a great job. She made the models look very dirty and gritty and it was quite believable if i must say. The hair stylist was also great he made the hair look effortless and it worked well around the brief.

Chris managed to call in some amazing Stetson hats to add the more obvious 'cowboy' element of the shoot. The look was based around Shirts and Denim. We were going to shoot from a field at first but the Photographer Amar managed to get hold of a Stable which was 25 minutes away. The stable owners were lovely. They allowed us to shoot with some amazing horses and also use some saddles. The scenery on the farm was amazing they had hay stacks , tractors and open field space.

The brands used in the shoot were mostly: Edwin Denim, Harry Stedman shirts and Grenson boots.

Also check out another current shoot posted on Hunger by Chris and i.

(This was my first time touching a fully grown horse. I now like horses. Haha.)

IPR PRESS DAY

This post is super late but I've been insanely busy over the past month. But in other news this means i have a lot to upload which compensates for my absence right? ha. So IPR had their press day last month which I'm always excited about as they look after many well known brands as well as Up and coming brands. Brands such as Katie Eary, Sandro, Kenzo, Monki and Tourne de Transmission (TDT).
They also had a few guest brand for the Press day. I was particularly drawn to the collection by Domingo Rodriguez. His collection consists of amazing knitwear and fine quality leather and suede pieces. I've notice the suede trend for this winter, many designers have included suede and pony hair in their collection. I must say i  am a fan.

I instantly went to browse through the Katie Eary's collection which is literally in my opinion her best collection yet. It created such a spin during London Collection. The Neoprene floral biker in particular. For me the colours/ prints are spot on and the collection definitely flows. It has a reoccurring theme throughout the whole collection.

Print and pony hair shoes are defo' in for AW13 the shoe brand Purify have a wide range of shoes consisting of leather, Snake, Croc' embossed and pony hair. All in monochrome and animal print. I like the take on a classic shoe but making it different by using different textures. I've also seen the use of an exaggerated platform within many designers work.

Are you a fan of any of these new trends I've spotted? Enjoy and comment below.

CANOE PR PRESS DAY. VANS & PUMA

The canoe PR press day was one of my favourite as it had a lot of streetwear. I was unable to photograph all of the brands so i focused mostly on the new Puma and Vans variations. However it was interesting to see the new Evisu, Supremebeing and Bench collections.

When it comes to Evisu the first thing that comes to mind are the over branded jeans with a 'million and one' pockets and the oversized emblem. However the AW13 collection has definitely redeemed itself. The creative director of Diesel moved over to Evisu and has completely changed the brand for the better. I believe this is going to rocket the brand into the new street wear scene and join brands such as Penfiled, Carhartt, Stussy and Supreme.

Vans have released a wide range of new styles, prints and materials. They have a pair that would suit everyones taste as they have many variations and styles such as their classic authentic, Vulcanized and their Hi Skate. My favourite in the collection are the Vans Old skool variation. The released it in primary colour suede. But i've also seen a faux snake print pair in a mustard and petrol blue colour which i must get!
Vans were also creative and have incorporated cartoons into their styles for kids. They made a 'Phineas and Ferb' pair which i love as i'm a big kid and love cartoons. They also have broadened their childrens and and babys shoes and have a cute 'Dad, mum and baby' zebra collection. Not exaclty my style but someone else may love it. The Mens style is in the form of a Chukka boot and the ladies style being a slipper/ loafer style van.

I'm also very happy with what puma has done with their collection. They've experimented with materials and prints and even released new models. One in particular that looks like a Nike Huarache.
My favourites are the High top pair with leopard print pony hair. and also the classic pumas with subtle leopard print.
