Day 1 of Fashion week was a last minute choice for me. I had an extremely busy week. 3 shoots in a row and returns had to be done that Friday. Initially i wasn't going to any go to any shows but i thought why not and headed out to see the later shows during the day. Both showcases were held at the Freemasons hall on Queen Street. It's a beautiful venue.
The first showcase was by the Designer 'Niam'. I really enjoyed watching the collection. It Forecast the up and coming trend for Spring/ Summer which is Monochrome. But also Vibrant greens and Reds. The collection consisted of pleats and layers which i loved. It also featured some sportswear. There's a grey varsity jacket that i fell in love with. My favourite look from the Niam collection has the be the Full red pleated Jacket and Pleated Corset look. the colour and the construction or the clothes were simply genius.
The second part of the collection was quite different and definitely not everyone's cup of tea. It consisted of a lot of Lace, knits and silk. The combination of the three materials were interesting to see together and it worked well in a few of the pieces. The use of knitwear some what reminded me of the collection by Siblings during London collection: Mens. The full length over sized knitted sleeves and the hooded snoods. Listening to the people around me it seemed that the collection wasn't highly favoured. I personally quite liked some pieces from the collection. My favourite two looks have to be the Cropped tweed jacket with full knit Jersey sleeves with a white shirt underneath and the floor length dress lace slit dress with the circle cut out in the front.
Comment below and tell me your faves' out of both collections:
