London Collection: Mens- ASTRID ANDERSEN

Astrid Andersen set the bar high at Day 1 of LCM. Her SS14 collection definitely broke the boundaries of menswear. Her collection features an urban/ sporty aesthetic but also has slight femininity to it. She explored with Cuts/ silhouettes and colours which mirrored an earthy feel to the collection. It was very clean and airy which i loved. The Muse for the collection is purity, rituals and Green Tourmaline which is a quartz stone. This stone was also presented on our seats. This was a nice touch to the show. It allowed us to see how the object had been translated into her clothing. It was truly inspiring.

Astrid used materials such as Mink fur, Nylon and lace. Her lace prints showed the idea behind the quartz stone the most. It seemed like it was a magnified print of the texture on the stone. The collection was very pure and earthy. The colour palette was filled with Greens and white. The idea of light/ sheer materials reflected the characteristics of the stone and it was easy to see where she had made links after reading the  When held up to a light you could see different reflexes.

I fell in love with the Nylon print tracksuit; The long sheer printed asymmetric vest; the white nylon bomber and the white sleeveless fur detail vest. ( I will caption my favourites below)
